February 2026

Feb 16, 2026

My passion for ministry began in college as my decision to follow Jesus led me to accept every opportunity to serve - driving a bus for a kids outreach ministry, leading studies with incarcerated women, and ministry to homeless people.

After college, I entered public accounting and began to apply my financial skills in service to nonprofits.  The firm I worked for had a niche in nonprofits and governmental entities.  I spent the next 6 + years learning from nonprofit financial experts and applying that knowledge in service to over 20 diverse types of nonprofits.

Yet something continued stirring in my heart, as each year I returned back to my job after doing short-term missions trips.  I longed to apply my giftings in a way that directly served ministries.  In faith, I began a transition from public accounting in 2002.  God ordered my steps and I arrived on staff as the CFO at Trinity Church of Lubbock, Inc.

For more than 30 years, I have advised leadership through many financial decisions to a place of financial strength.  My proven process (GPS) and tools enable leadership to fully know the state of finances, with actionable financial data and make strategic decisions.

During the 2020 shutdowns, my network of relationships provided multiple conversations for me to discuss the financial challenges of a pandemic with several nonprofit executive leaders.  It was in those conversations that the decision to launch out into a fractional CFO business was born.  The calling on my heart that came from that “signal” to those that needed me became stronger than the contentment of where I was at.  And so I launched out!

So grateful I said, "Yes!" We love serving, people like you!

All we have, all we are, all for Him!
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."

Colossians 3:23

Planning for Succession

Nonprofit Succession | 3 Things To Do NOW!

Here's an example of transitioning well:

Indiana Avenue Baptist Church (IABC) is in a transition, both in its finance and pastoral leadership. The church is preparing for the retirement of Senior Pastor Steve, with a search committee actively working on succession planning. At the same time, IABC is onboarding a new Finance Director, Jill Axton. We are grateful to partner with them in the transition into her role.

This thoughtful approach to succession and onboarding ensures continuity and positions IABC for long-term success. One of the key factors supporting this transition is the presence of well-documented policies and robust financial systems. By having clear procedures and reliable systems in place, IABC is able to maintain consistency, safeguard accountability, and provide new leaders with the tools and guidance they need to thrive. These strong foundations not only ease the learning curve for incoming staff but also help the church navigate change with confidence, ensuring that their mission and ministry remain on solid ground.
